About our guaranteeAll of our horses and ponies come with a three month guarantee. They are guaranteed 100% for health and personality. If you don’t like them for any reason what so ever we will trade you horses and make sure you end up happy. You have 3 full months to poke, prod, test, try, examine, analyze, show, trail ride, or train to see if this is the horse for you and one that you can be happy with. Health wise: We cover any pre-existing medical condition that a horse might have. If a horse comes up lame or has a problem that was existing when you bought them it is covered. For example; feet problems, navicular, blindness, heaves, etc. We also guarantee for life against any HYPP related problems on our Impressive bred horses. Pre purchase examinations are welcome using any vet. You are more than welcome to use your own vet or the vet of your choice. We would even prefer that you do not use our regular barn vet (Dr Mark Betcher) for a pre-purchase, that way you can be sure there is no conflict of interest. In the event that a horse you bought does happen to come up with a pre-existing condition, we trade you for a different horse. No questions asked. That way you don't have to invest any money into a horse that has a problem or worry about what the future will bring. We will replace the horse as soon as you can get out and pick out a new one. We do not reimburse you for any vet work that you have done to diagnose, correct, or maintain a problem or lameness. We rather trade you for a horse without a problem. So just bring the horse back and pick out a new one. Personality wise: We cover that you like the horse, can get along with him, that he rides as good for you as he did for us, and that he will do the job you had intended for him to do. If you are unhappy with him for any reason you can trade him in and we will find a better match. Even if you just see something that comes in that you think you’d like better, that’s O.K. too. Exclusions: If you injure the horse yourself or if the horse has health problems due to lack of care, we don’t cover that. If you cut the tail considerable shorter there will be a penalty. | |||||||||||||||||

Our sales policy including deposits
| Our Holding PolicyWe understand that many of our customers come from out of state or traveling a long distance. If you call to make an appointment we can put a verbal hold on any horse while you travel to get here. No money is required or obligation to purchase a horse that is held for 2 days or less. Holds of longer than 2 days require a deposit that can be applied towards the purchase of any horse. If you would like us to hold a particular horse please call or e-mail and tell us which horse specifically you would like us to hold. Once you have ridden the horse, if you choose not to buy or leave a deposit then that horse will be considered available to the next customer. Holds without deposits are not an option once you have already seen a particular horse. It is simply an effort to avoid a wasted trip. It does not hold the horse while you go home and think. If you make an appointment to look at a group of horses but do not specifically want anything held, those horses will be considered available for purchase to anyone and though it is not likely, they may sell in the meantime. We ask that when setting up an appointment that you do leave a phone number and we will call you if the horse you were coming to see has sold. Our feeling has always been that if the right horse is still here when you come to see it, it was meant to be. If it has sold then it was not meant to be and your dream horse is still out there somewhere. Hopefully this will help avoid any conflicts if more than one party is looking at the same horse. We try to keep things as simple as possible and want to give everyone the same opportunity to view our horses. Back To Top |
| Do we take trade in’s?Well that all depends. If you have a safe, sound, quiet, family type horse that will work in our program and that we can resell and guarantee, we may consider a trade. We will occasionally take a trade in, but honestly you will get more money selling it outright than you will in on trade. We need to buy at a price that we can make money and of course guarantee it to the next customer. For us to consider a trade we need to see the horse in person or on video and we can give you an idea what the horse is worth to us. We really prefer to sell our horses outright rather than take a trade. Our horses need to meet certain criteria and we need to be confident in their soundness and temperament in order to guarantee them. We know our horses well and there is more risk involved for us if we take a "trade in" that we don't know and then try to resell them to get our money out of them. If we can make enough money on the horse to cover the risk then we will take a trade. If we don't feel there is enough profit margin on the "trade in" to cover our losses if the horse doesn't work out then we will not take the trade. We also don't trade even up. We like our horses and they work for us in lessons and at the shows. We trust them and the nice ones can work here in our program forever and earn their keep. We are not going to trade our horse that we like even up for your horse that you don't like, don't want, can't ride, or no longer have a use for even though you feel he is just as saleable or his market value is the same as ours. We would strongly recommend you sell your horse outright to the public if you would like to get your full asking price. Then come buy ours. You will get more money than we will give you in on trade and maybe have some money left over for tack. If we do look at your horse on trade. The trade in value will be based on the age, training, temperament of the horse. Is it in a current working program and in condition or has it been sitting in the pasture for a while. Also has it's training and health been maintained. For example if a show horse has not been shown is several years it is not going to still be worth what you paid for him when he was in condition and winning ribbons. Trade in value will also depend greatly on the time of year. We won't be able to turn over as many horses in January when it's 10 degrees out as we can in June when it's warm and for that reason your horse is worth less to us in January even though he is going to be the same horse in June. Also the horse market can change drastically in a few years or months time. Depending on what types of horses are currently selling best or not selling at all will play a part in what your trade in is worth to us. We do not determine our trade in value based on what your horse is currently priced at. I have seen the exact same caliber horse priced thousands of dollars difference. He is worth what the buyer will is willing to pay. Whether your horse is priced at $2,000 or $10,000. We will make an offer based on what we think we can sell the horse for. If you can sell him for more on your own that is wonderful and we would prefer you do. We can even offer suggestions on where and how you can sell him best. We would hate to insult you with a low offer because I am sure your horse is worth every penny that you are asking for him. We just might not have a need for them at the time or just be plum full and that will also influence how much we may or may not want to give for them. If you would still like to trade please decide on a price that you can take for the horse and then we will let you know if we can consider it or not. Again, we hate to offend you with our offer. We are just trying to make smart business decisions. Many of the horses we have taken on trade have not been honestly represented. When we do take a horse on trade we take full responsibility for that horse and we can't return him to you if we don't like him. Our horse is guaranteed and you can return him. That is also why we don't trade even. We leave ourselves enough room to absorb the loss if it so turns out that way. We would like to make money on every horse we sell but the truth is that we don't. Sometimes we make out great, sometimes we break even, and sometimes we take a loss. That's business and we understand it. We also need our customers to understand where we are coming from when we make an offer. Back To Top |

| What if I need my horse hauled?
Due to the current rise in fuel prices our minimum price for hauling is $100. That includes anywhere within an hours driving time. We would be happy to give you a quote on anything over an hour. Prices will depend on the price of fuel and how many horses are being hauled in the same direction or to the same location. Many barns will offer hauling for free or at a discounted rate for new boarders. It is a good idea to check with the facility you will be boarding at to see what they can do. Back To Top |

| The health and soundness of our horses:All our horses are always up to date on all routine vet work. Including worming, shots, shoeing, teeth floating, wolf teeth, tear ducts, and sheath cleaning. They receive worming every 8 weeks. Spring and Fall shots consist of (Eastern, Western, Flu, Tetanus, Rhino, and West Niles). They are trimmed or shod on a 7 week schedule. Coggins tests are drawn in the beginning of each year. Illinois Coggins test are good for a year from test date. When a horse arrives here. It is completely checked over. Our farriers check for hoof problems and soundness. We flex test for lameness or soreness. Our vet floats teeth on every horse that comes in and confirms ages on our grade horses. X-Rays are done on any horse that has anything we feel is significant or could cause a problem. We ride and test our sale horses throughly. They are usually in our barn for 2 to 4 weeks before they are ever listed for sale. This insures that we know the horse and are confident in their soundness and temperament. There are many horses that don’t pass the test. We buy on average 2 horses out of every 100 we look at. We are very picky and our stock reflects that. We only sell sound, healthy horses. Anything that we don’t feel we can guarantee won’t be sold here. We take great pride in the health and condition of our horses. Every horse on the property is checked daily and we make sure all their needs are met. Back To Top |
